PHILADELPHIA, PA - Senior Brenden Spicer's victory via pin secured Father Judge's second consecutive league title as the Crusaders edged Archbishop Ryan, 36-28, in the finals of the 2020 Philadelphia Catholic League Wrestling Championship on Tuesday evening before a tremendous crowd at Archbishop Ryan High School.

The win marked the fourth PCL crown in five seasons for Father Judge, which dropped a 48-33 decision to ARHS on Jan. 7.  Seniors Matthew Kidwell and Eamonn Logue notched pivotal wins for the Crusaders, along with sophomore Sean Logue.

Vying for its first league championship in program history, Archbishop Ryan was fueled by victories from seniors Jon Swift and Matt Weinberg.

Father Judge will face Central on Thursday, Jan. 30, in the District XII 3A Championship, while Archbishop Ryan meets Northeast in the consolation semifinals.  Best of luck to both AOP schools!
