Matchups Finalized For 2018 PCL Boys' Basketball Championship

PHILADELPHIA, PA - Seeking the program's first title since 1988, Bonner & Prendie is the top seed for the 2018 Philadelphia Catholic League Boys’ Basketball Championship, which begins on Wednesday, Feb. 14.
At 19-3 overall, the Friars enter the Championship having won six league contests by four points or less, including overtime victories over both Roman (68-66) and Archbishop Ryan (57-54). Bonner & Prendie and Neumann-Goretti each posted identical 12-1 records in PCL play, but the Friars earned the top seed by virtue of their 73-70 victory over the Saints on Jan. 28.
Vying for its seventh league crown in 10 years and first since 2014, Neumann-Goretti earned the No. 2 seed, followed by Roman, Archbishop Carroll, defending champion Archbishop Wood and La Salle College.
First round action commences on Wednesday, Feb. 14, as seventh-seeded St. Joseph's Prep hosts No. 10 Bishop McDevitt, while No. 9 Cardinal O'Hara visits eighth-seeded Archbishop Ryan. The quarterfinals will be held on Friday, Feb. 16, with the semifinals scheduled for Feb. 21 at The Palestra. The finals of the 2018 PCL Boys’ Basketball Championship will be held at 8:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 26, at The Palestra.
