Archdiocese Holds Initial Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Meeting Of The 2018-19 School Year

RADNOR, PA - The high schools of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Catholic League held their opening Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) meeting of the 2018-19 school year on Thursday morning on the campus of Archbishop John Carroll High School.
Group discussion focused on such topics as preventing bullying and hazing thru athletic participation; the importance of teamwork and serving as role models; and student-athlete mental health.
Guest speakers included Dr. Laura Crispin, Professor, Saint Joseph’s University; Harry Perretta, head women’s basketball coach, Villanova University; Ms. Mary Beth Davis, Counselor, Neumann University's Mental Health Counseling Center For Wellness; and Mr. Jon Hoynak, Assistant Athletic Trainer, Neumann University.
The committee will hold a second meeting in March 2019.
