SPRINGFIELD, PA - Cardinal O’Hara High School has named BJ Hogan as its Athletic Director, it was announced today by Principal Eileen Vice.   
 
A 2001 graduate of Cardinal O’Hara, Hogan has served as the school’s Director of Alumni Relations and head football coach for the past two years.  He guided the Lions to the 2016 Philadelphia Catholic League Blue Division Championship and 10-1 overall record, which marked a nine-win improvement from the 2015 campaign.  Tabbed the 2016 PCL Coach of the Year, he will maintain his duties as head football coach at the school.   As Director of Alumni Relations, Hogan managed the Hall of Fame, assisted with the annual alumni golf tournament, coordinated reunions, and developed alumni programs and events.
 
“We are excited to have Coach Hogan as our new Athletic Director. His experience managing coaches, mentoring student athletes and working with alumni will help him as he takes on this new role,” reflected Principal Vice. “We are very proud of our athletic programs and we look forward to continued success both on the field and in the classroom for our student athletes.”

Hogan compiled 20 interceptions as a football student-athlete at Widener University and earned all-conference honors in 2004.  He graduated from Widener in 2006 with a degree in Communication Studies and a concentration in Public Relations & Advertising.  Prior to leading the Cardinal O’Hara football program, Hogan served as Special Teams Coordinator and Defensive Backs coach at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga for six seasons.   
 
As an O'Hara student athlete, Hogan competed in three sports and was team captain for the 2000 PCL Championship football team.
 
Cardinal O’Hara captured PCL Championships in girls’ cross country, field hockey, girls’ basketball, football, girls’ indoor track & field, girls’ tennis and girls’ outdoor track & field during the 2016-17 school year, while 197 student-athletes earned academic honors while participating in fall or winter sports.
