GLENSIDE, PA - Junior Meg Sullivan registered her sixth strikeout of the game with a runner on third and two outs to give No. 6 Bonner & Prendie a 3-2 win over second-seed St. Hubert's in the finals of the 2017 PCL Softtball Championship at Blankley Field on Wednesday afternoon on the campus of Arcadia University.
The victory secured the Pandas' first PCL softball crown since 2013 as the team advances to the District XII 4A title game on May 31 at Arcadia University. Vying for the program's first league championship since 2012, St. Hubert's will represent the Philadelphia Catholic League in the District XII 6A title game on May 31 at Arcadia University.
Sullivan allowed just two hits on the afternoon and added a two-run single to give Bonner & Prendie a 3-1 lead. The Bambies opened the bottom of the seventh with a walk and an infield single and pulled to within 3-2 with two outs on an RBI groundout by Lindsey Davies. However, Sullivan registered the final out of the game via strikeout, setting off a jubilant celebration in the infield.
