PHILADELPHIA, PA - 
No. 2 Roman earned a 3-0 victory (3005-to-2800) over regular season champion Father Judge on Saturday morning to win the 2017 Philadelphia Catholic League Boys’ Bowling Championship. 

It marks the fourth PCL title in program history for the Cahillites and first since 1956.  Roman posted a 13-3 record in league action during the regular season, which included 3-1 losses to Father Judge on both Jan. 19 and Feb. 16.  Nick Kyndus of Father Judge led the PCL with a 199.0 average, followed closely by teammate Matt Fry at 197.94.  Ryan Guth paced Roman with a team-high 187.33 average, good for eighth in the league. 

The Crusaders earned the top seed in the 2017 PCL Championship by virtue of its 15-0-1 record (league-best 46146 scratch pins) during the regular season.  Father Judge advanced to the finals with a 3-1 win over No. 5 Conwell-Egan in semifinal action on Feb. 23, while Roman notched a 3-1 semifinal victory versus third-seed Archbishop Wood on Feb. 23.
