Archbishop Ryan & La Salle College Claim Team Titles At 2016-17 PCL Swimming Championships

PHILADELPHIA, PA - Archbishop Ryan captured its second Philadelphia Catholic League Girls' Swimming title in three years, while La Salle College seized its 29th consecutive Boys' Championship as the two-day meet concluded on Saturday in exciting fashion on the campus of La Salle University.
Sophomore Meghan Kidd finished first in the 100-yard backstroke (1:06.97), freshman Allison Henry earned gold in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:06.53), and junior Sydney Aston notched a pair of second-place performances to lead Archbishop Ryan past runner-up St. Hubert’s and defending champion Archbishop Wood.
La Salle College was led by senior Jake Sannem, who captured gold in both the 200-yard freestyle (1:38.91) and 500-yard freestyle (4:35.22) events, while freshman teammate Liam Smith placed first in the 100-yard freestyle (48.11) and second in the 200-yard freestyle (142.41).
